Senior Banking Executive supports improving numeracy for vulnerable retail banking consumers.

Hermish Kumar

Numeracy for Life (N4L) an adult numeracy focused skills platform is pleased to welcome Hermish Kumar, formerly Head of Digital Performance at Lloyds Bank, as a Board Advisor, to support the rollout of N4L solutions to the financial sector.

According to Mr Kumar, “Evidence shows that numeracy is a major factor influencing customers financial capability. Research indicates that low numeracy skills affect people’s abilities to make an effective budget, manage their debts and choose suitable products.

Over a fifth (21 per cent) of British adults believe their fear of numbers is hindering their financial wellbeing, according to a study by KPMG UK. A platform like N4L is sorely needed to bridge the numeracy gap between financial institutions and their vulnerable customers.”

“Delighted to have Hermish’s experience in the financial sector supporting N4L UK roll-out. His insights will allow us to focus our offerings to add the most value possible.” added Neil Salvi, N4L CEO.

Numeracy for Life is designed to improve the confidence and employability options of adults by enhancing their numeracy skills, thus creating pathways for better life opportunities.
